“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few.”
-Zen Master Shunryo Suzuki
After meeting everyone at the airport for Anahata Movement’s first retreat – Retreat for a Moment’s Peace – we all boarded on a shuttle for what led to an incredible week. With rain taking out some roads on the west side, it took a little bit longer but we arrived safe and sound to eat dinner and get a good night’s sleep before starting our practice in the morning.
The first class truly set the tone for the week. We invited everyone to take that beginner’s mind – allow themselves to be open to the experience and childlike wonder. And seeing our dream, our vision for this retreat, come to fruition was something else.
We were all here. And the magic has begun.
The group walked over to the black sand beach after yoga and breakfast for some fun in the sun and water. Danielle and I took a run along the beach in the afternoon.
The food has been incredible – healthy and a great variety.
We finished with yin yoga. I taught with a note from the universe: Simply put, the reason there are things you want out of life that have not yet appeared, is because you’re just not used to thinking of yourself with them.
