On Saturday night, I bought an art therapy & relaxation coloring book. It was honestly the best purchase I’ve made in some time. I can’t remember the last time I just sat down and colored. I lost myself in the design of an owl and had no goal other than to make this picture as colorful as I could. I felt like a kid.
In my everyday, it’s typical to only do things that have a productive result: workout (to stay healthy), return that email (stay in good graces at work), laundry (need clean clothes to wear) and the list could go on based on ALL the things we think we feel like need to be done in a day.
It got me thinking – if we took that recess or color break, how much more productive or creative might we be? Give it a shot and let me know how it goes.
